Ensuring our executives are the best qualified people for the job

The goal of the Junior Leadership Program (JLP) is to prepare junior managers at Carl Zeiss for their first leadership tasks and promote high-quality leadership skills on an international level. It also offers the opportunity to forge global contacts with other high potentials and executives within the Carl Zeiss Group.

Twice each year, potential management candidates who successfully complete the Junior Leadership Assessment are given the chance to participate in the JLP. The program includes contributions from a wide variety of internal and external instructors and executives. It brings participants up to speed in a broad range of subjects and introduces them to key contacts at Carl Zeiss.

A solid grounding in leadership responsibilities

The program extends over a 12-month period. Following a preliminary introduction to the structure and organization of the Group, the participants move on to learn about key issues such as value-based management, business excellence, and the ZEISS brand. In order to give them a broader perspective on the company's business, the participants are provided with comprehensive information on the technologies and products of the various business units.
The program includes a number of seminars on topics such as intercultural awareness and leadership, communication, presentation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
